1 · What BuildMyEvidence is
BuildMyEvidence is a personal documentation tool. You use it to record events, conversations, photos, and correspondence related to disputes or situations in your life.
BuildMyEvidence is a tool of record only. It is not a law firm, not a legal service, and does not provide legal, medical, or professional advice. The information you enter is your own — we store it, organize it, and help you export it. We do not evaluate, interpret, or act on it.

2 · Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
3 · Your data belongs to you
Everything you put into BuildMyEvidence — your entries, the files you add, the people you name, the messages you paste or email in — belongs to you. We do not claim ownership of your content.
You can take everything out at any time with "Take everything out" on your account page. You can delete the items and files you added, or entire cases, at any time.
4 · How we use your data
We use your data only to provide the service — storing it, displaying it, building PDF documents from it, and processing inbound emails you forward to your case address.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties except as necessary to operate the service (see our Privacy Policy for details on service providers).
We do not use your data to train AI models. We do not use your data for advertising.
5 · Payments
Building a case and reading everything on it is free. Downloading its documents costs $59, paid once for that case.
You can read everything first. Once paid, the sale is final. If the same case is ever paid for twice, the second payment is refunded in full.
Charged by Highfield Digital, Inc., a Delaware corporation. Payments are processed through Stripe; we do not store your card details.
6 · How long we keep your account
6.1 The rule
A free account that hasn't been signed into or used for 12 months is closed, and its records are deleted. We email you 30 days and 7 days before, with a link to take everything out. Signing in keeps it open. An account with a paid case is never closed for going unused.
Using it means signing in, or doing anything in the app while signed in — opening a case, adding or changing something, downloading. Any of those starts the 12 months again, and cancels a closure that was coming.
6.2 The dates
- 11 months unused
- We email the address on the account with the date it will close, and a link that signs you in to take everything out.
- 7 days before
- We email once more. It is the last reminder.
- 12 months unused
- The account is closed and deleted — but only once both emails have been sent (6.4).
If an email goes out late, the closing date moves later to keep the 30 and 7 days. It never moves earlier.
6.3 What deleted means
It means deleted. The records, and the files themselves in storage. Not hidden, and not marked as gone. The only copies left are the backups section 7.4 of the Privacy page describes.
There is no undo for it in the product. That is the point of it.
Deleting a single case works the same way, and immediately. Section 7 of the Privacy page sets out exactly what happens.
6.4 Two things stop a closure
A paid case in the account stops it permanently. An account holding a paid case is never closed for going unused — and that covers every free case sitting in the same account.
An email that wasn't sent stops it too. Nothing is closed unless both emails were sent. If either cannot be sent, or bounces, nothing is closed.
6.5 We never delete anything because you haven't paid
Not paying is not a reason to delete anything, ever. A case you have never paid to open stays exactly where it is, for as long as you keep using your account. Going unused is the only thing that ends an account.
6.6 Taking everything out is free, always
You can export everything at any time and it costs nothing. That holds whether or not anything in the account has been paid for, and whether the closure emails have already gone out. It is never held back, never slowed down, and never put behind a payment.
What comes out: every file we hold, as it reached us — except that a JPEG photograph's location data is removed before it is kept; the record itself; and the fingerprint recorded for each file we hold.
7 · What you agree not to do
You agree not to use BuildMyEvidence to:
- Store content that is illegal in your jurisdiction
- Impersonate another person
- Attempt to access another user's data
- Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the service
- Interfere with the operation of the service
8 · Limitation of liability
BuildMyEvidence is provided "as is." We make every effort to keep your data safe and the service available, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service or that data will never be lost.
We are not responsible for decisions you make based on the records you keep in BuildMyEvidence. We are not responsible for the outcome of any dispute, legal proceeding, or complaint.
Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the 12 months preceding any claim.
9 · Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through the app. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
